About the cover: Avobenzone is a widely used UV filter. Under disinfection conditions various disinfection by-products (DBPs) are formed. The presence of Br– and I– led to formation of brominated and iodinated avobenzone DBPs. Aquatic chlorination of avobenzone formulations led to the increase in toxicity. Sunscreen formulation influences on degradability of avobenzone.
